We were delighted to welcome members of the Council for World Mission Executive (CWM) to the morning service at Bunyan Meeting on November 16th 2025. The service was led by our minister, Rev. Chris Damp with welcome participation from the CWM visitors. During the service, the CWM General Secretary Rev. Dr Jooseop Keum presented a CWM plaque to Rev. Chris in appreciation for the congregation’s warm hospitality.

After the service, we hosted lunch for the visitors and some of our members. We were able to make a presentation about Bunyan 400, and show the visitors around the John Bunyan Museum.
Filmmaker Philip Fothergill took the opportunity to interview both the Moderator of CWM, Dr Natalie Lin and the General Secretary, Rev. Dr Jooseop Keum, for his documentary recording the events of Bunyan 400.
What is the Council for World Mission?
The Council for World Mission was founded as the London Missionary Society in 1795, as part of the missionary movement of the late eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. David Livingstone and Robert Moffat were LMS missionaries; also, Eric Liddell, of Chariots of Fire.
In 1977, the London Missionary Society adopted a global partnership model of mission, and more recently moved its headquarters from London to Singapore. There is a strong emphasis on global participation, and recent campaigns have addressed issues of Empire, Decolonialisation, and Legacies of Slavery, as well as supporting local mission aims in many parts of the world.
We are excited to be working with CWM over the next few years on the Bunyan 400 Translation and Languages project, which is already taking shape as part of our global engagement.
